Paperwork works on the PDF files you already have. Edits are kept in a working file of their own and can always be undone; only the export writes a new PDF. The original stays untouched.
What the app does today
Reading
- Reading view with zoom, thumbnails and outline
- Search, text selection and links
- Open password-protected PDFs
Organising pages
- Reorder, rotate and delete pages, insert blank pages
- Merge PDFs, insert pages from other PDFs
- Save selected pages as a separate PDF
Annotating
- Highlight, underline and strike out, snapping to the text
- Notes, text boxes, pen and shapes
- Comment list in the sidebar
- Export with real PDF annotations
On iPhone and iPad
- Glass bar at the bottom, thumbnails and comments in a sheet
- Double-tap and pinch to zoom, swipe to turn pages
- Apple Pencil draws, your finger scrolls; the back of the pencil erases
Checked with automated screenshots at iPhone and iPad sizes, not yet on real devices.

How it connects
- Long texts are written in Documents and arrive here as PDF.
- The same in every app: command search with ⌘K, German and English, automatic saving on your device.
